“Wolverine” Characters Run the “Gambit”

More news coming out of Comic-Con and it is AWESOME!

Not only did Hugh Jackman show up unannounced at the X-men Origins: Wolverine panel

Not only did they screen footage from the film which is “done!”

BUT GAMBIT IS IN THE MOVIE!!!!!

That’s right, the playing card wielding, pole swinging RAGIN CAJUN will be in the film when it releases next May. The link below from ign has a description of the footage, including a rundown of some of the other characters, notably THE BLOB, DEADPOOL and WRAITH (and of course SABRETOOTH).

This might be the biggest news for X-Men fans who were teased that Gambit might make an appearance somewhere along the way in the original X-men trilogy. There was a teaser when his information was on a computer screen in X2 and “Lost” actor Josh Holloway was at one point confirmed to play the character in some way in X3: X-men United but that didn’t pan out as he returned to the TV show. But now, there is definitive proof that Gambit will indeed be appearing, he’s being played by Taylor Kitsch from “FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS”.

At the event Jackman did say that the film is totally finished, so expect marketing for the film to begin ramping up soon, probably as the summer season comes to an end. I would expect a trailer sometime around October or November maybe around the time of Harry Potter.
